This summer was a summer of rest for me. For the first time since I've been old enough to work, I took the entire summer off. I drove the kids around, took care of my husband when he threw his back out, took care of the dog when she needed a cone-of-shame and couldn't stop scratching her face.... haha. So while I call it a summer of rest, it was really a summer of service.
Amidst the chaos I took time away from the studio, away from instagram, away from marketing or website upkeep, and I had (occasionally) time to rest.
I loved taking deliberate time off. I had so many painting ideas. I just let them float around in my head! I am starting the next season filled with ideas and inspiration. And a realization that the sun keeps rising even when I'm still.
