Artist Bio

Jessica Parsons Lomelí is an acrylic painter based in Belmont, MA. She studied art history and web design at Oberlin College. She later received a certificate in graphic design from MassArt. She worked professionally as a graphic designer for 15 years while learning to create her own artwork. She paints at the border of abstract and representational art. Jessica has sold her work to collectors both locally and internationally. She belongs to local art groups and has recently started teaching beginners to paint.

Artist Statement

I paint to capture the air and light of a space in various subjects - landscape, seascape, and still life. My paintings give the viewer a place to rest. Most of my subjects are familiar places for me and I tend to come back to recurring visual themes from my own life and travels. I have traveled in Italy, France, Spain, the UK, Australia, Mexico, Florida, California, upstate NY, and the New England coast.
